AUBURN, CA - A discarded newborn whose mother still has not been identified was buried in Auburn last week.
Two Placer County Law Enforcement chaplains and several members of the Placer County Sheriff's Office were present for burial services for the infant boy in the baby section of New Auburn Cemetery.
The child was found in a garbage bag in a pile of garbage bags dumped along Green Hills Court in Newcastle June 21, said sheriff's spokeswoman Dena Erwin. A woman walking in the undeveloped subdivision told a sheriff's deputy about a bad smell coming from the bags.
