AUBURN, Calif., October 8, 2012 – From Granite Bay to Lake Tahoe, Placer County is home to hundreds of family-farmers, 18 award-winning wineries and 20 farmers’ markets. “Celebrate PlacerGROWN Week,” proclaimed by the Placer County Board of Supervisors, is a week dedicated to celebrating the bounty of PlacerGROWN farm-fresh produce and agriculture. Area residents are invited to celebrate at one of three local events throughout the week and everyone has the chance to win FREE PlacerGROWN produce for a year when they "like" the PlacerGROWN Facebook page.
Celebration Kick-Off! Farmers' Market at the Fountains at Roseville
Tuesday, Oct. 9th, 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Residents are invited to visit the farmers' market at the Fountains at Roseville for farm-fresh cooking demonstrations from 10:00 a.m. to noon, in-season Placer County produce, fresh breads, wood-fired pizzas, marinades and more. For market directions, visit www.foothillfarmersmarket.com.
Auburn Wine & Food Festival
Saturday, Oct. 13th, 1:00 - 6:00 p.m., Downtown and Old Town Auburn

Farm & Barn Open House

Fun for the whole family, the Farm & Barn Open House is a FREE self-guided tour of 15 farms, ranches, and vineyards in Placer County.
Guests will enjoy everything from farm and ranch tours and fruit sampling to award-winning wine tasting, wine press demonstrations, live music, pumpkin patches, hay rides, live music and livestock exhibits.
